Yes but you have to retrofit the M engine too. The dealer should be able to install a package for you.

Since the Steptronic is a six speed and the DCT is a 7 speed the warranty Steptronic to DCT transmission swap only covers the first six gears and you will be charged extra for 7th gear.

Might as well have them do an S65 swap to fully enjoy that shiny new DCT. Best way to do this is:

1. Drain all oil from existing engine.
2. Drive to dealership.

You may want to preorder a flatbed.

Merely, that the retrofit and warranty requirements for Miss KillaB appeared to be quite simple to satisfy until the GED variable was introduced to the equation.

My understanding, though, is that there's a waiver available for the GED. It just requires an interview, in person, with BMWNA, (212) 515-8200.

There is a special for retrofitting the D (daylight mode), the N (night time mode), and the R (race mode).

I respectfully disagree. I good indy should be able to throw the 7th gear in, for free!

The answers will be the same as last year (linky). The comments have already stepped to a higher level. Be careful, I think DSX is still a little torqued that you backed out of the trade.

I have to say I am still laughing at that trade thread!

1) Anyone want to do an EVEN trade, looking to get into an M3.
reply) what do you have to trade?
2) a 328i

Absolutely Classic.

Why waste time with a conversion? Why not just do the 328 to M6 swap under warranty, before it would cost you $70K?

OP can't really go to an Indy if they want to use their warranty - has to be the dealer so they will need to pay for the 7th gear.

Shouldn't this thread be moved to the "Ask A Dealer" sub-forum?
