Oil Leak!

Just returned from a week cruise and found an oil leak (about 1/4 quart ) dripping from the oil cover. I checked the oil level and it showed full. I took the car for a quick ride and noticed the leak was still dripping very slowly when I returned. Sounds like I may have the same problem. CPO expired
Wanted to mention that I only have 28k on my 06 convert.

Check your vacuum pump and oil sending unit right under it ! Probably the oil switch they are known to leak that much.

My dealer is about 60 miles away. Do you see any problem driving that distance?
Any idea about cost??

I don't know about the cost I repaired mine myself. My sending unit was only $15 and the vac. pump I just used Peramtex. Check the oil pan too while the car is running to see if the drips are coming straight from there. I see no problem driving the car 60 miles you should have plenty of oil in it to get you that far if it's full. If you are worried take a quart with you if it gets low the car will tell you to add a quart.

I think my vacuum pump is leaking. Its coming from there and dripping all over. Does anyone know how much is this part and how difficult it is to replace? Or should I take it to a shop?

I changed my vacuum pump the part cost around 300 dollars at the dealer and mine is a 645 but u must also change ur oil pressure sensor same time

Thanks for the reply. Do you have the instructions on to change it out? The link is no longer there from tis. I read that matching the crankshaft is the hardest part...how do you line up the shaft to slot it into the engine?
Also do you happen to have the part number? Can't find it on getbmwpart.com
Would be greatful if someone can email me the how to sheet to replace the vacuum pump.

Honestly my mechanic changed that for me I don't have any clue

Here is the part numbers for the vacuum pump & oil sending unit. There are 3 bolts to remove the vacuum pump, & it takes a 15/16" deep well socket to remove the oil pressure sending unit. This can be done in less than a hour. The price for the parts will vary, but the diagrams will give you a ball park on pricing!
