USB Audio Interface

My USB audio interface has worked perfectly for three years plus, and recently it started with an occasional NOT CONNECTED problem. It would then come good again some time later. Now it will not recognise a USB stick at all, tried new ones initialised in OS-X and Windows 10... no dice. Any one have a clue before I pull the centre console to bits in the hope of finding a loose wire..?

When the stick is forst plugged in it does light up it's LEDs so something is attempting to do something..but it stays resolutely NOT CONNECTED
