Make that April 8, not 4, for arrival date in Baltimore. Online BMW tracking still only says car has finished production, but 1-800 number now reports correct "car in transit" status. Online tracking has never displayed a photo of what our car looks like, nor does it list any details except exterior and interior colors. From what I've seen of others, it used to list quite a bit more so I guess it still hasn't been completely restored.

Been lurking around for a while and thankfull for all the useful information so I finally thought I would reciprocate. I ordered a 2014 x1 in Mid February. My car was on the Tirranna which pulled into Baltimore On March 21. MY CA originally estimated that I could pick up the car here in Northern Virginia early this week. Last Sunday he revised his statement, saying that since these are the first 14's coming in, there may be a little delay until they are released by Customs and the EPA. No word since then, although I sent an email asking for an update yesterday. Bummer.

Since it appears that they are close, anyone that is financing the car through BMW FS have you been give rates and programs for the 2014 models? Also How do they compare to 2013? # weeks till i get mine...... the wait is killing me!!!

StanW reported that his 2014 x1 arrived in NY on the 27th. I'm sure he'll update us when anything further happens. It'll be interesting to see if his car is held up at customs or, we all hope, moves right on to BMW's vehicle preparation center.

We checked finance rates with our dealer last week and they're still at 3.19%. We'll probably go with our credit union which currectly offers 1.9 and doesn't expect to see an increase in the near term future..

Checked mine today thru the shipping company and it was released from customs yesterday and on to the VDC today at 0800. Mine was on the Turandot that docked Tuesday.

Update: CA expects the car to the dealer on Monday, with a day or two for finishing. So, looks like a week and a half after the ship came into port nearby. I guess I can wait a little longer.

Thanks to all for the updates. The 2014s seem to be moving quicKly through the Port of New York and I'm guessing things will speed up in Baltimore as well.

The Talisman is moored in Southampton and scheduled for departure today for her voyage across the Atlantic. BMW online tracking finally shows our x1 "Enroute to the US."

Update for us on the west coast, the Jinsei Maru just passed between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, and is due at Cristobal tomorrow.

Now the CA is saying that the dealer will have it this weekend. You would think this would be easier to predict.

I was on a cruise ship which passed from the Atlantic into Gatun Lake about a month ago. There was an auto-carrying RORO directly in front of us passing through the locks. I wish I had a picture handy to post--it's amazing because those are big ships and they completely fill the locks with literally inches to spare on each side.

i watched a whole documentary on the Canal last night and it is impressive, some ships only have 2' on each side as they pass through. Talk about a close shave!

Jinsei Maru passed Aculpoco today...bout a week before it arrives. I think it is stopping in Sam Diego before Port Hueneme. It's harder waiting now than a month ago!

The Talisman has entered Chesapeake Bay and should make port in Baltimore shortly. I figure 10 days to get to the Detroit area.
