Ok if I let my car sit in park running for like 10min then go to leave a big puff of smoke comes out tailpipe. Some told me it might be valve guide seals how serious any opinions

Puff of smoke

I'm not a mechanic 1st off but I was told the same thing was happening with my car if I let it idle . I had my valves guides , heads and lifters serviced by my Indy . He did everything under my extended warranty . If I'm not mistaken he disassembled everything and sent it to a machine shop to be cleaned . The warranty co called and said they approve the job and it was 29 hours labor . I say this to say its a pretty big job .

Yeah that what I have been hearing.. the good news for me is I just bought is 2 weeks ago from dealer so still under the 30 day warranty.. The bad news for the dealer is they probably won't want to do the job if it costs as much as I have been hearing 6 to 8k also my alternator knocks in morning I dropped it off wed they sent it 2 bmw still havent heard anything but if it does cost that much or more and they only sold it 2 me for 14k I am sure they are going to try to talk me in to changing cars but they dont have anything else I want..

That's tough , I was in the same situation . I bought my car used and luckily bought a extended warranty from the dealer . The dealer was useless but I slaed the warranty company online and now they have been my best friend . I was told by my Indy that when he was at the stealer they did a half A$$ job and charged roughly $7500 . I would recommend finding a extended warranty that covers seals and gaskets and file a claim with them after the grace period .

I'm sure if they value your business, they can FIND what you want. In fact, I'm sure they will, before they give you back any monies. Just keep pressing them.

So they dealership got back to me today and it's the valve seals said bmw say 7k to 9k to fix there are trying to get me to return car and get my money back because they don't want to pay it especially because I only paid 4k for it but I am under contract loan had already been funded and there is a 30 warranty on it that they should have to live up to so i am not agreeing to that just yet. .they said there going to talk to managers I am going to go to mva dealer license and show them warranty contact see what they say.

Just a thought , find a Qualified independent shop get them to do it and get the dealership to reimburse you or to pay the independent shop to do it to be much cheaper that way for them and that way you'll still have the car but have a problem Taken care of

Dont necessarily agree. He shouldnt have to come out of pocket for anything. it's not like he's had the car a few months, this was an immediate issue AND he has a 30 day warranty.
Let the dealer worry about it, or refund his money and terminate his loan contract is what I say.

That's how they (BMW) got all our azzez! But, yes that has a lot to do with it. I just dont understand how a dealer cant find him another exact same car.
These cars arent that hard to FIND,..just hard to FIX!

One last thing just for all reading , this is not a single case all BMW v8s are prone to this, so let it warm up , 10/15 mins and see what's what before buying a BMW v8 , just my 2 cents
