Anyone know anything about the BMW Performance Silencer System???

Looks like a sport exhaust for the 35i models. Would love to see details...

On other models the package includes a new exhaust...if they can get the 3.5i exaust tuned to sound like the 5.0i I'd hop on that...and keep my 35i badges

says it's for all 6cyl from 2007 so 3.0 does apply. I would love to get this for the sound - and yes still keep my 3.0si badge on. Not sure if the pre-LCI exhaust hole will fit that shape though.

The link doesn't show this silencer system.

Youtube video looks to be an M Sport bumper with the M Performance Package (ZMX), it has the black chrome exhaust tips. Don't know how it could be that though based on the date of the upload.

Black chrome tips are listed as part of the performance exhaust. It does appear to be an m sport or even x5m bumper though

Ah, should have read the description instead of looking at the pic. Think I found it on realoem:

This looks like the chrome tip replacements and component parts. For those not looking for the muffler component but want the oval black chrome tips.

Doesn't everyone debadge the ugly side emblem anyway?
I plan on doing it as soon as I get mine but my intentions are not to "pretend" its a 50..

I de-badged my car. Why let anybody who is not a connoisseur know what it is. As long as it's a BMW that's all that should matter.

Part # is correct, but my dealer tried to order and reported that it looks like there is a National Freeze on them. Given that I haven't seen one in the States yet, the release may have been delayed??

Yes. I don't know the cost yet. I did find it on a UK BMW website for 1,100 pounds for parts only, no installation.

Just wanted to update this, my dealer ordered this part number for my ZMX packaged 35i, so it is available now. Worked with BMW NA on figuring out what exhaust is supposed to come with the ZMX package and finally received confirmation that it is the Performance Exhaust. Hopefully I'll have it on early next week.

Thanks for the update! I was planning on checking in with my dealer next week. Please post pictures and video when you receive it!

As a sidenote - are you saying that the Performance Exhaust was supposed to come with your ZMX build - but that it did not and they are adding it now?

Will do, hopefully it sounds like my 135i.

Yes, my vehicle was built with the normal M Sport exhaust with the chrome tips and it was also missing the stainless steel accl pedal. They originally wanted to just order the tips from the M Performance exhaust and retrofit them that way. I asked them if that's they way it was supposed to come from the factory, they bolt up the normal M Sport exhaust, cut off the tips and clamp on the ones from the M Sport exhaust. They got back to me and said they were ordering the entire exhaust instead of retrofitting just the tips. I asked if it was supposed to be this way from the start and was told yes, so I assume that means that the ZMX package should include the Performance Exhaust. They don't appear to have any other exhausts with black chrome tips for the 35i, this is the only one.

So this confirms that the M-Performance Package comes with the Performance exhaust...and I assume this applies to the 35i and 50i...

The 50i doesn't have a Performance exhaust (part 18207639892) available as an accessory, but it definitely has a different part number then the normal M Sport/Sport exhaust (part 183077600492). Guess you could purchase it after the fact and swap it in.

With the 35i, I wonder if they still didn't have the part available for the early builds so they sent them out with the standard M Sport exhaust. Your guess is as good as mine though.

Quick update, picked up the X5 today with the M Peformance exhaust, it sounds amazing. Burbles at idle and sounds nice and throaty under acceleration. This is not the exhaust you want if you don't like hearing it all the time though, it loud enough at idle that you can hear it inside the cabin. I noticed after I got it home that the one tip sticks out farther then then other, so I'll have to go back and get it adjusted, other then that, I'm very pleased.

Just place a clamp on the passenger side exhaust tail pipe butterfly valve to stay open atleast half way........ and enjoy an inexpensive mod that feels and sounds exotic and M power all over it.
