Help! Need assistance changing brake pads on 525

I'm trying to change out the brake pads on my niece's 525 and I can't get the caliper off. This job is turning out to me much harder to do than on my E39.

Can somebody direct me in what I'm doing wrong? I've taken caliper bolts off and the huge bolts that hold the rotor in place with caliper mechanism. and Still no joy.

Please help!!

You didn't need to take the carrier bolts off, but if you did and still can't get them off the next step is to say screw it and start prying.
Pry between the pad and the rotor, but start out carefully against the rotor if you're going to reuse it.
I can't imagine it being that difficult to remove.

Brakes

How is the rotor condition? Is there a lip around the outside edge, this can make it difficult to get the old pads to slip over the lip. In the past i have use a block of wood and some gentle tapping to get the caliper off the rotor. Hope this helps

Thanks for the help everyone. I finally got the drivers side off and was able to do the passenger side in 30 min. Seems I really had to pull toward myself to get the piston to retract enough so the caliper would clear the damn carrier.
