R.I.P. e39 hello e60 :-)

So I had to put my first BMW E39 528i down (sold it to a parts center) I bought it in 07 had a accident in 08 and never really recoverd from it but it solider on. Long story and too much to type on a iPhone lol. Originally planned to buy a m5 e39 or e46 for my next BMW but I needed a car quick and not much time to shop around. My mom decided to treat herself to a new 750Li ///Msport for her 50th bday, so her 04 525i w/sport package with only 76K miles on it (mom is retired and rarely drives) was up for grabs. Now I remember the day she bought it and immediately got on her for not getting the 528 or 530 cause 25 motor suck in 5 series and should never be option for it lol just my opinion. Though my dislike for the motor my mom gave me a great deal so I took out loan and purchase it cause of my current situation needing a new car and building credit. The reason I told this short story so all of you guys that love to go on people thread that have 525i and say you should of got a 530,35,45,50. I know if I was in a better position I would of got it.

So after a month of owning (nightwing) I hate and love it. Obviously hate the m52 2.5 motor I felt my e39 2.8 motor was powerful and torquier. The m52 In the lower rpm in sports mode while city driving no real complaints until the highway which I do most of the driving frustrates me, making quick pass by forget lol the bmw electronic fly by wire is pure joke with no throttle response. If it wasnt for it having the sports package which I LOVE!! it takes corners like butter! Other than that love the car even though e60 is my least favorite 5 I'm starting to love it everyday so here comes the mods list .
Sprint booster
Afe stage 2 intake
Afe throttle body spacer
Rpi ram air scoop
Rpi or Remus exhaust (going to make a separate thread about that)
Quaife LSD (to put all the power down)

Finally last two mods
Dinan high flow throttle body
ECU programming

Body Enhancment**
Msport front & rear bumper
V10s 19in hyper black wheels

This is my everyday car im not doing these mods so i can race someone on the highway, my gripe is how un responsive and lack of torque it has. Doing ricer math lol I'm hoping to pull 220-30hp & 190trq out of it from the research I did and that will make me happier with this 5.

First off, congrats and enjoy the car. It may be low on power but it's still a great car.

(IT HAS BEEN PROVEN TIME AND TIME AGAIN ESPECIALLY IN A WARM CLIMATE THAT INTAKES THAT DO NOT USE A BOX AND THAT DONT PULL THEIR AIR FROM OUTSIDE THE ENGINE BAY ACTUALLY ROB THE ENGINE OF PERFORMANCE AND WHERE AS THEY MAY BE A BIT MORE FREE-FLOWING, THE ENGINE IS BREATHING IN HOT AIR WHICH HAS MUCH LESS OXYGEN IN IT AND IS THEREFORE PROVIDING LESS EXPLOSIVE POWER IN THE MOTOR -- ID STAY AWAY FROM AFE AND INSTEAD PONY UP FOR DINAN AS THEIRS IS SICK AND HAS PROVED POWER INCREASES)
Afe throttle body spacer
(TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY, PROVIDING TURBULENCE AS THEY EXPLAIN IT TO THE AIR AS IT GOES TO THE THROTTLE BODY FIRST OFF WON'T DO ANYTHING AND SECONDLY THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH IS PART OF THE ESP, DCT, DSC PROGRAMS OF THE CAR WILL RE-ADJUST AFTER RECEIVING THAT "TURBULENT" AIR ANYWAY TO RUN THE MOTOR THE WAY BMW INTENDS FOR IT TO BE RUN -- WHEN THINGS SOUND TOO GOOD OR TOO CHEAP TO BE TRUE, THEY ARE)
Rpi ram air scoop
(I HAVE THEM, IF YOU GET THE DINAN INTAKE, BUY THE RPI SCOOPS FOR THE M5 AS WITH THE DINAN BOX YOU'LL BE ABLE TO UTILIZE BOTH SIDES OF THE INTAKE UPFRONT IN FRONT OF THE RADIATOR AND THEREFORE YOU'LL WANT THE SECOND SCOOP, DOESN'T DO MUCH BUT PRETTY DARN CHEAP AND CANT HURT, ESPECIALLY AS SPEED)

(I'D LOOK AT DINAN OR REMUS IF I WERE YOU, MORE UNDERSTATED SOUND AND BETTER DYNAMICS THAN THE RPI SYSTEM)

(I'M A HUGE PROPONENT OF ADDING A LSD, QUAIFE IS SOLID AS HELL TOO BUT HONESTLY WITH THAT HEAVY OF A CAR AND WITH ONLY 200HP, ESPECIALLY IF YOU GET SOME GOOD RUBBER, YOU WON'T BE BREAKING THE REAL WHEELS LOOSE TOO OFTEN ANYWAY, JUST SAYING, FOR A FEW G'S NOT SURE IT'S WORTH IT ON THE 2.5)

Thanks for the great input, I was looking to try to dinan the car but when I went on the site the only thing they had for my model was the mass body and exhaust, no intake or ecu upgrade so I'll make a call into them . On the sprint booster I know after the ecu upgrade I won't need it but that won't be happening until next year so until then the booster will help. The LSD I'm putting in there I even installed one in my old 528i. Made great difference when I was doing canyon runs with my buddies. Damn so when I get the exhaust I need do the msport bumper upgrade too :-/

Yeah I can't wait to start modding its going t be simple mods cause after this is paid off, next e90 m3 but when I was at the dealer picking up my mom 750 the sale guy was talking about the new m3 going to be tri turbo
