It requires an SRS (supplemental restraint system) reset tool...as well as fixing the problem.

depends on what the code is for. usually its the passenger sensor mat in the seat. look up bypass airbag light.

i read my code found that to be the fault. sniped the wires and soldered on a 4.6 resister to a 1n4007 diode. started the car up and it cleared on its own.

the information is on this forum if you search

Did you work on your window regulators or seats recently?

Typing /srs F3 in the best links nets a tool for under $15 that purports to reset the light:
- What is the cheapest usable BMW E39 airbag srs reset/scan tool on the net (1) & a cn90 DIY for replacing the driver seat belt buckle pretensioner and the passenger seat emulator (1) & what can cause a BMW E39 SRS airbag light (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) & what scan tools reset the fault (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) & what happens when we disconnect the airbag before the battery or we connect the battery before disconnecting the airbag in seat and window regulator repairs (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) & where to obtain an airbag occupancy sensor bypass unit (1) (2).

Now your job, as the OP, is to add value to those threads (maybe snap a photo of whatever it is you use to solve the warning light), so that the next person picks up where you left off.
