Camshaft position sensor - intake

I need to replace my CPS, my 2001 530i will hardly start, stalls, and has low power when accelerating.
I'd rather replace it myself then take it to a shop or the dealer because it will save me a couple hundred.
However, I'm a female who knows little about what's under the hood but have heard this is a very quick, simple job.
Could someone please instruct me step by step, preferably with pictures, on how to do this, with description of the parts I will have to remove and what not.
I'm not completely useless with tools, I understand those haha, I just don't know the car part.

Hopefully others will provide more info, but I did mine when I replaced the Vanos seals. The intake CPS is harder to access than the exhaust one and some of the items required for removal are removed during the vanos job. I suggest taking a look at the Beisan vanos seals replacement guide (very well written and easy to follow) to see what is involved.

Also, get an OEM sensor. Lots of reports of aftermarket ones failing quickly or even right out of the box...
