98 740 il Can the car engines vibrate if the timing is of a bit?

I just had timing job done to my car and now the motor vibrates. You can feel it through the whole car.The mechanic is telling me the its electrical but my car wasn't doing that before. Also I had another mechanic double check it and he is telling me for sure it is the timing thats off and that one side isn't even firing. I don't know who to believe. The other mechanic tells me that the car wouldn't even start if the timing wasn't done right. Also my car is leaking antifreeze through my water pump but the pump is brand new? Thanks Bimmerfest.

heres a video of my engine

Who did the timing job? Try unplugging the maf and restart to see you have same symptoms. Do you have a code reader?

Was the Maf? and I think they did put it on a computer but im not sure. The last mechanic who checked it not who fixed it tells me the car is off timing and that one side is not working but my car runs and drives. Thanks for the fast reply. Can the car still runs and drive with the timing off. He says the car is a big engine thats why it can do that. Im confused.

MAF=mass air flow sensor on top of intake tube going from air filter to throttle body. Also if only one side/bank of cylinders is working, then the other Camshaft Position Sensor may be faulty.

Take a look at this link.

So my guess is you don't think this vibration is coming from the timing being off. Also I know my car Maf was going bad before all this happened.

Did you try removing the MAF and then starting the car to see how it runs?
