iPhone 5 cradle available June

Think I'll stick to the USB cable... Also note that the "Media" adaptor does not support video playback!

Probably no chance they will ever get emails to work in the Office module either...

I just keep the older iPhone 4s, with the Media Cradle, with a prepaid T-Mobile SIM in the car all the time. I use that one (4S) for Music source. The iPhone 5 I use via BT connection (and have a cable to the USB center console to recharge and the rare use of the BMW Apps).

The 2013 750i can see and access both phones.

Will switch to the iPhone 5S when it comes out.

The cradle does have a few benefits over the cable, but video isn't one of them IMO

Pros:
- When using the BMW apps (and i use the web radio all the time); has even replaced Pandora for me, the screen shuts off when the console cover is closed. I had to replace my prior iPhone because the screen discolored due to heat because when web apps are used the screen doesn't sleep EVER.
- Don't like BT audio when listening to playlists; the audio is inferior. When connected via cable, the playlists do not include music from iTunes Match. When using the cradle plug-in, it will play all music, including all music in the cloud from iTunes Match. Plus it's a nice, cool looking screen interface.
- Signal strength is slightly improved when in the cradle...

Neutral/Cons:
Video, while it's cool that you can watch videos, the screen resolution is a joke. 16:9 or 2.35 format video is letter-boxed both ways with no with to zoom in. So, 70% of the 10" screen in black while watching a tiny movie in the center (with no chapter controls).

If the iPhone 5 cradle is priced like the iPhone 4 cradle, I'll buy it...

I'll probably pick one up when they're available as well provided that the price is reasonable. I'm currently using my old iPhone 4 in the cradle for music playback (phone has been disabled since I purchased the iPhone 5) and I'm not a big fan of having USB cables jumbled inside the space limited center console. I don't understand all of the fuss about no video support, but then I don't see myself ever using the iDrive screen to watch videos.

As to the question about support for office, the cradle won't solve this issue given that it's due to the proprietary nature of Apple's iOS that doesn't support open calls to the office functions on the iPhone (along with no support for Dragon Drive either since it uses SMS). Until Apple changes the way they allow dual communication, don't see this changing anytime soon.
