How many Miles/KM can i drive my BMW
My car is a 2007 with 93,000 KM. I average 15,000 km per year. I change the oil 2 a year (even though BMW recommends once a year).
I take care of my car (wax it twice a year) It's in good shape. How many more years or mileage can i still get out of this car? I like it and i dont want to trade up. I would like to drive it another 5 years (200.000 km) Is this doable? PS: Many people tell me i should get rid of the car now before it starts to cost me lots of repair $$. Thanks.

200,000 - 300,000 miles is quite reasonable. You can go a half million miles or more if you really want to.

I sold my old E46 with 318,000km on it. It was running perfectly when sold.

My '01 330xi had 145K miles on when traded in.
My '91 525i had 198K miles on when (slightly) wrecked (I'm guessing it's in E. Europe now!) Both had had cooling systems and front-end maintenance. Only one show-stopper for the 330xi, none for the 525i. Both had the original clutches. You need to pay attention to maintenance - cooling systems and front-end pieces are the most prevalent. |
