NICE TX...no wonder I haven't seen any of the original members over in the E65/66 side of the forum. Most of you guys are moving on up lol. Congrats on the upgrade my man! I thought I was gonna be able to upgrade this year but the wife came first. Got her an '11 Acadia Denali! Was looking at the same year X5 but it couldn't beat the Denali package. Nice pick up again Bro!

Haha!!! Sharp eye my man. LOL! Actually, not just quite. I yanked off the dealer plate frame and simply installed this one because I needed to remove my personal plates from my old car. But I am still contemplating...

Now then...

Congrats on the new beast. Really like the Mineral White. Giving it strong consideration for my next 6/7 if I stick with BMW after the lease is up. They're not offering our turbine style wheels any longer and I'm kinda bummed about that because I really liked them

Unfortunately that color choice also eliminates the M-Sport package... :-(

Some questions/observances:

The light pattern on the road at night is "passenger side balanced".
Even though the dealer claims they adjusted it.

Is there a way to turn off the "seatbelt gong"?

How are the fog lamps removed?

I installed some current bulbs for the eyes. Look a TON better! Photos if course will make them look brighter that reality. But, the color is great. And noticeable in daylight using DRL.

I have my roof spoiler ready to install.
Ceramic pads going in this week.
Hoen bulbs for eyes

Coming soon...

Foglight bulbs are accessed by pulling the black plastic mesh trim piece next to the fog light straight out towards the front of the car. You can then access the fogs.

So.... A very important *update* for my Fest bros... I just left the shop and can CONFIRM that the Akebono pads sold by Tire Rack DOES FIT the rears!!!
I was there and the fitment went right on with shims and all without any effort. So my new shoes will NOT be all dusty and sh1t when they go on real soon...

Ha, you beat me to it.

I was working with Tire Rack on this for a few days. Here is what they finally found and their official response. Excellent we have good ceramic pads for the F01/F02 now!!!!

"The reason I asked about the diagram and how they do not fit is that we are aware that the manufacturer does not list a rear pad for your application. They do, however, list a rear pad for the 08-12 750Li, and the FMSI (Friction Material Standards Institute, the sanctioning body for brake components) part number for the 750i, Li, iX, and LiX are all the same, so this makes it reasonable to believe that the pads should fit. Since you're saying they do not, we wanted to figure out if you received the correct pads and how they do not fit, because we want to try to correct our listing if it is wrong."

Glad to hear this. I am shocked though that The Akebono engineer that I spoke with was emphatic that they did not carry rear pads. He even sent me the front pads for free to try out. Tirerack responded that they sent my request for information to Dallas but I never got any additional response.

Thanks Marcus for going ahead and installing to know for sure!

Marcus,

What angel eye bulbs and fogs did you go with? What is the part number for the rear Akebono pads?

You know... I actually jumped the gun when I returned the first set of PIAA bulbs! Reason being, I had not turned on DRLS and the parking lamp output was just too dim. They may in fact had worked just fine.
When my DRLS are on the brightness is noticeable even in sunlight. But you guys are certain only 1 bulb per pair of eyes correct?
To answer your question... I had recalled some bulbs I heard about way back in my lexus days: HOEN. They are reasonably priced ($35) and get lots of praise on many forums (domestic and foreign) so I snagged two sets. I mystery say that I am very impressed with the color and brightness! They can only be purchased via Hoen website. Great customer service too.

Pads:
EUR1409
EUR919

Another quick observation...

My roof spoiler is painted and ready to install. Out is significantly smaller, shorter and lighter than my e65 one. Which is a good thing.
It's been all rainy so, installing this weekend!

Love it that more people are starting the mod the F01s. What kind of tires are those? They look like Hankook V12?
