Impressions On Turbo X3

So my mother had a recall and some squeaking coming from the brakes. We got a 2013 X3 Loaner, wow I like it better than her sav. There is an intresting sound when you speed off, like a sonic boom! Can someone tell me if this is faster cause I'm guessing the take felt faster.

Which turbo did you get, the 4 cyl turbo or the I6 turbo?

hehe the sonic boom blew me away the first couple of times I heard it. It was since explained by a helpful chap on this board that it's the second exhaust pipe opening up to handle the increased exhaust at very high rpm's, or something along those lines. Now I find myself flooring it once in a while just to experience the boom, which kicks in at 5,000 rpm, sometimes 4,500. I really like it.

I drove '12s and '13s at the dealership before buying the '13. I thought they were pretty comparable speed/acceleration wise. I have a lotta years under my belt with the BMW I6 in different models, so it was kind of a shock to go to the 4 turbo. Still getting used to the not quite as substantial sound, but I'm pretty sure it is just as fast and torque-y.
