Small door ding

I got this small ding on my door a few months ago from another car. Anyone have suggestions on how to remove and where to go in my area?

that looks like an easy one .... just ask your dealer who they use and go direct .... maybe meet them at your dealer the day they stop by each week.

I have even had the bumper repair guys come out to my work and fix two whammos someone put on me. $150.00 later and I could not tell and it's been 8 months now and still looks perfect! But that damn brake dust...bothers me the most. Your door ding should be easily fixed with their little ball tool and mirror.

Now the question is...fix this one now...or wait for the next one and fix both of them.

Damn, I hate that. The wife gets annoyed at me when I park a half mile from the store just to find an "out of the way" spot. If you see a blue water 328 parked kiddy corner alone in a corner spot at the far end of the lot, it is probably mine.

These things happen in "threes." It might pay to wait...get a "quantity discount."

Well that's nice that she left you a note on your door but what does that have to do with your door ding? Is she asking you out or saying how much she likes your bimmer

She bumped her stock 328 into my baby. See the pic for bumper damage.

Here is what the girl next door did to my bumper 5 weeks after I had it. Can you see the small scratch?

I went to get the quote from the dealer for the back bumper...$682 to repaint the whole thing.
There was a indy PDR guy there (dealer doesn't do it) that they pointed out and he said he would have to make a tiny hole on my inner door area (where the tire pressure sticker is) to get to the ding. Or I would have to have BMW take apart the interior behind the ding (3 hours of labor). He said $120 if I go with the tiny hole approach.

I had the interior taken out. The process was basically: seat cushion removed as one piece, side panel removed as one large piece replete with (what we believed to be) the seat belt extender motor. I think that's it, just two pieces. The tricky part according to the pro if fitting the side panel back in, because according to him there often seems to be different changes in exactly how they fit from one year to another. It took him a while to get it back in, it looked to be a feel-method, based on experience, based on my dumb guess and distant memory.

The only cautionary word is the possibility of increased rattle. I think mine did, and I went the way of vinyl tubing where the fold down seats meet the deck. Better, but occasionally it came back, then I finally went at it with Finish Line (Krytox I hope, at a fraction of the cost) lubricant at various seals, and it went away for a long time. Something came back again, but I'm pretty sure it was the passenger seat belt system, I just gave it a tap I think, and it's been smooth sailing for a while now.

Now that I actually look at your ding, it is pretty high up there, I don't know what kind of implications that has. Mine was lower down, so accessing it wasn't an issue after removing the side panel.

btw, I think the stereotype joke was a really stupid one, but I'm here to help for the moment.
