dual exhaust on 07 335xi

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can do anything to keep the dual exhaust open on an 07 335xi? Saw a video about this on youtube regarding a corvette, all you do is pull a fuse and it stays open....

Tried it, BTW; didn't like it. Low end performance suffers.

The upper crust simply purchases a JB4. Using the chip, the flap can be kept open via software. Very sophisticated, and very urbane - that is what all the best people do.

Yeah Cal, pulling a plug has to be the most complicated act imaginable.

I too, disliked the twin pipe condition. Sounded like I had along my washing machine for a ride. The background drone was insufferable.

I just bought an 08 with dual exhaust. I t seems to have a rattle sound on the driver side pipe. I took a look and there seems to be a nipple hanging down. If I push on it the sound goes away. Actually, after idling for 1 min the sounds goes away and my left pipe opens up (exhaust comes out). What is this all about? Is this the norm? I can record sound if need to.

Photo would help; could be a broken/loose flap.

If you tap that thing with your finger or a screwdriver, do you hear the rattle? It's correct, the solenoid closes the flap until idle, cold start and increased rpm, I believe around 2500 rpm, you hear it open.

In reverse, it rattles @ start then 1min later it opens. Then it sounds correct. My concern is the rattle upon start up. Is that common? It pans out later and stops the rattle.

FYI, When it rattles I can push the nipple in and it silences.

Sounds like it's operating normally aside from the noise, must just be loose at the plate.
