Mein Auto: 2001 M5
Should I buy this one? :-)

Hello fellow BMW enthusiasts I am new to this forum! I am a long time BMW owner and currently have a 2001 M5 which is in cherry condition. I should mention that I do all of my own maintenance so working on newer BMWs doesn't scare me. That said, I have never owned an X5 before and am looking to get one to haul around my race car as well as as a general utility vehicle.

I am looking to get a 4.4i X5. I have been doing research on them and heard about transmission issues, CCV (crank case vent?) issues, and water pump problems. Are there any other major things I should look out for? I have found one here: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/4258532075.html What do you guys think about the stated work and the price? I have been back and forth with the owner and he claims it doesn't blow blue smoke, the transmission shifts smoothly, there are no leaks, and it drives great. He also says he has all of the receipts. Lastly, I ran a car fax and everything seems okay! Of course I will thoroughly check over the vehicle before I decide anything.

All advice welcome!!_a_
