How will the 328's performance and exhaust sound be altered? And how would fitment of this (or similar) systems impact on warrantees?

From what I understand, if it can be shown that any aftermarket part was directly responsible for damaging the component you're attempting to fix under warranty, it will not be covered.

And depending on the dealership you get, they may just say "warranty voided" and will leave you fighting an uphill battle proving that it didn't.

Technically the law states its on them to prove your mod damaged the car. If for instance your transmission fell out and you put a free flow on the car you'd win that one easy in my op.

LvdB,

Unless an exhaust system removes the cats and is therefore EPA not street legal, installing a cat-back will not void the manufacturer’s warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Act of 1975 is a Federal Law that supersedes any blanket statement made by an OEM (such as BMW).
If you’d like to do more research, please read more about this law on the FAQ section on our website-http://www.borla.com/support/faqs/

Our exhaust system is straight-through, therefore will improve performance. Here is a sample of how our catback sounds like

Suneil,

We'll release the exhaust system for the 335i sometime next month. We actually developed 2 sound levels for this application, S-type and ATAK! I will make sure to post on the forum once it becomes available.

Thanks

Sorry about that, what about now?

http://www.borla.com/products/328i_2...t__140509.html

if it's still not working, the part # of the system is 140509 and retails for $982.09.

Thanks

Working now thanks!

Any plans for a black tipped version to match the current sport line exhaust color?

I'm sorry but we do not have any immediate plans of doing that...once we release the system, and if there is a demand for it, we might consider it.

Thank you

I'm interested in this! I like the sound, and I agree, the 328i needs a bit more. Question - does the stock system have any resale value? I have a Sportline with the black tips. It seems a shame to just throw it away.

You keep the stocker and put it back on and sell the Borla when you are done with the car.

Only the black tips would be worth anything to anyone.

Andrei-
Any issues with drone at certain RPM's? I had a B&B Triflow on my E36 and, while it sounded amazing, it had terrible drone at certain RPM's and was unbearable to drive on the highway. I ended up removing it after a month and put the stocker back on. I swore I would never waste that much money again and have been turned off to performance exhausts since.

I'm a little concerned about this as well. I've had several Borla exhausts on different cars in the past and never had any problems with droning from them. However, this exhaust removes the resonator. Could that make it more prone to drone?

The drone is a great question! I noticed in the video that the interior shots were taken with the engine crusing at higher RPMs than how one would normally drive. I would like to hear 50 and 70 mph in 6th gear (I also have a manual).
