Recall Campaign No. 13V-044 Power Supply System

I searched this first and didn't get any hits. I got notification today of this recall that involves an issue with vehicle power supply. Apparently they replace the positive cable that runs to the fuse box. Symptoms include momentary flickering of the display and can completely interrupt vehicle operation at times. I've had no issues on my 08 335i. Anyone had this remedied yet?

Do you need a link to NHTSA's recall site? What is the point that you've had "no issue" yet?
Just bring your car into your dealer according to the recall notice...CERTAINLY, many have had their cars remedied by now...why are you (apparently) freaking out about this?

After reading through the "remedy" instructions in the NHTSA database, I can't say I'm too excited about getting this done. They have to remove the glovebox and then they splice a new connector onto the end of the battery cable. If the crimping of the two wires together is done poorly I could see the same ultimate problem occurring that the remedy is supposed to be fixing.

Using the correct tools and techniques to install the updated part will ensure a finished look and permanent connection reliability. Not to worry.
I'd worry more about the floor boy washing your car afterwards.

Recall OK in Texas

I had my recall fix today for my '08 328i at the Bimmer dealer in San Antonio. One hour, free car wash and fluid top-off check. Smooth.
Our TEJAS BMW CLUB will be wringing out the new 85mph toll road at our event next month. We are guessing if the gendarmes would give us a speeding ticket for 5mph over the limit or will they allow us 10mph?

Got it, & hopefully the OP is most well informed, which SD, you provided the best info on the battery recall in the first place & has since been buried by nearly non-stop reposts:

Question New Battery

I just received the recall notice today and can not help but wonder if this is what forced me to have to purchase a new battery about 6 months ago. Does anyone know if this defect could create a problem with the battery?
