Can't envision myself buying any new cars anymore, too much depreciation.

+1! I'm the same way. I'll never purchase a brand new car again, unless I hit the Lotto. I'm hooked on bimmers too, & CPO is the way to go

Great thread - we need more of these

My wife never liked BMW until she test drove a 525xi in 2007 - then she was hooked. She loved the smooth power band, handling, and simplicity of the interior. We had a few Maximas prior, and she always referred to them as the Matrix cars - something about the silver surround on the shift lever base she said reminded her of the Matrix. Her words the way I remember it: "the BMW's interior is so understated and built for function - nothing flashy like a Mercedes - it just works". That weekend we ended up taking home a brand new 525xi. Fast forward a few years - I said I wanted a 535xi when the lease on the 525xi was up. She had no problem and even WANTED to go car shopping to look for one with all the options and color we (she) wanted. She hasn't embraced BMW 100% yet, as she bought a VW instead of the X3 I was hoping for, but she's now in the right country Her VW is approaching 80k miles and she's been eying X3's lately, making passing comments and such. Its a good feeling when you have someone you're converting from the dark side.

I'm completely hooked. Loved my 525 but OBSESSED with my 535, which just broke 65k miles. Like pjinca, I too plan on keeping my e60 until there are CPOs of the 6-series gran coupe around.

Mein Auto: 2008 550i
LOL, a couple of weeks ago I think my wife finally was convinced. I was returning from a business trip and my wife brought my car to pick me up from the airport. She had driven my previous cars, even the 530. However, when she picked me up she kept gushing at how smooth, powerful, and comfortable the 550 is. She agreed I should not buy anything else anymore. Wife approved = done deal!!!!!

Mein Auto: 2009 535i
My wife has previously driven 2 Lexus ES 300's for about the past 10 years. I have driven LX 470's (2) for about the same period of time (along with my weekend car Corvettes - 3) during the time. My wife has driven and loved her super dependable ES 330 since 2005. Even after buying her a 2009 535i she continued to drive the ES, so I drove the 535 for two weeks. After we later sold the ES and she was "forced" to drive the bmw to work. Her co-workers began showering her with compliments on the car... and the rest is history! Except for when she comes home from work one day and proclaims, "I like my bmw, so don't even think about swapping your SUV for my car!" At that point I knew my days of driving the 535 were over, technically. And that's when I knew I had to get my own if was going to drive one on a regular basis. 2 months later I had my first 550i. Nothing I driven so far, including 3 Nissan Z's and 3 Corvettes, compares to the feeling of driving this car. Glad my wife "forced" me to pull the trigger on this one. Click image for larger version
