Keys and central locking system acting up

When I press the unlock button, the door plunger moves really fast in the upwards direction like five times and makes a half unlocking sound really fast, five or so times. Very odd. None of the doors will lock or unlock with the buttons. Anyone know what's up?

Common issue. You need to replace both front door lock actuators and replace the fuse with a higher amperage. I'm a BMW tech, I've done a ton of these, there is a bulletin for it.

Thanks. The right door actuator went bad a while ago, only the drivers door still worked. also, a 20 amp fuse is and has been there for a while. Is there anything else that could be causing these things to go out? I'd hate to spend $140 replacing them just to do it again.

Edit: found the part for $70. This is the correct part, right??

Yes, that it the part number for both front (they come as a set). That fuse controls all 4 door lock actuators and the fuel lid lock. The actuator that is popping up/down rapidly is the one that blows the fuse. In my experience, it's almost always the front drivers door that needs to be replaced. Since they come in pairs, we also replace the passenger side as well. It sounds like your 20 amp fuse is blown, don't forget to replace it when doing the repairs.
