BMW Will Not Pay For Oil Change After Valve Lifter Replacement

Dealer says BMW no longer pays/requires an oil change after the exhaust valve lifters are replaced...They used, but no more..
Just had lifters done the other day under warranty, 2007 Z4si..

Anyone else had it done recently?

Why would you expect this? What is connection between lifter replacement and an oil change?

I'm not following this logic either. Yes, the lifters are filled with oil, but that oil stays in them during an oil change.
If you want them to change the oil, just ask them to. Either way, they'll just add it to your bill.

And they did!
Guess BMW thought it was necessary up until now.

You weren't getting a "free" oil change before; the dealer was just hiding the cost in the overall cost of the lifter job, and they could have been charging you way too much, but you couldn't tell. This way seems more honest: to say, "The lifter job costs this much and the oil change costs that much."

The car is back at the dealer anyway a day after the lifter replacement because its louder than it was before.
