Intermittent rattle around radio - Wood prying tips

I have a dashboard/center console rattle that is intermittent. It happens during certain temperatures, not too cold, not to hot but somewhere in between. The rattle comes from either behind the radio or just below it.

I've had it fixed once before, it went away for a while and now is back, although its better than before.

I'd like to fix the problem myself by adding some adhesive felt to certain areas. I've done similar things in other vehicles with lots of success. Some things just require a little more attention that the dealer can or is willing to give.

In order to get to the radio, I have to remove the wood trim on the center console because one thing locks another into place. Does anyone know if there is a certain way or certain points where you pry up the trim? I'm afraid I may break the trip piece if I don't pry in certain areas and it looks like a replacement might be expensive on this X3.
