We'll probably see it released sooner than later. I think the 550i and the new X5 will be getting the same engine, so that'll increase the potential customer base. Personally I'm leaning towards the '14 650i and slapping it on that engine. Biggest tradeoff for me when moving to that from the 7 is that the sunroof only tilts and doesn't slide open :/

As many of you know, I did the qtr mile runs stock and with Dinan. I just ordered a new car today (13') and will take it to the track to get some numbers. This time around, I may try the Burger tuners. Then hit the track to see how they perform compared to the Dinan. Burger $379 plug and play vs. Dinan dealer loaded software for $3,500. This should be interesting.

With the JB you can actually pull it off and reinstall in between runs to compare, as its that easy to remove .

No power trunk either, stupid considering many many 6GCs are optioned about the same as our 7ers.

Do they make a tune for the new engine yet? I didn't see one on the site...

Edit- I see they mention it under description, they are just calling it the N63, not a tu...

$379??? Wow

After seeing how fired up they get about the lack of a power trunk on the 6 series forum I try not to even bring it up Literally 25% of their threads seem to lead to power trunk discussions! I do see their point though - nobody wants to hear the sound of their license plate rattling as they slam the trunk on their 650 while some 328 parked nearby emits the smooth motorized sound of its trunk auto-closing.

It's the same module whether you have valvetronic or not. I talked to one of their reps earlier because I wanted to confirm if I could use it on my 7 and then transfer it to my intended 6 when the lease is up. Said that's fine, just may need a harness adapter.

That's correct , your 11 uses type A harness. I tried using my type A JB stage 1 from my 750 on a 2013 550i and it wouldnt work as it has type B harness .

Were you able to get some type of adapter or did you just order a new unit?

It should be listed not sure why its not. Reach out to terry via email. Hopefully he has something for you. Since the enine is the same for a 535 I would assume it would work on yours. Double check of coarse

Just sent an email. Im curious how the whole burger tuning works. Do you literally just plug it in? Why the huge price difference between burger and the dinan?? How does it interact with the 8 speed transmission? Is the burger tune dangerous for the engine turbos?

Have you tried to reset your adaptive transmission ?
And lol, your tires, it's because of that monstrous Torque!

It's as easy to install as taking candy from a baby's mouth , and to answer all your others questions and my honest opinion and so far experience with the JB stage 1, this tune is simply safe and yet conservative with the added 2psi which is quite noticeable, fuel is unchanged with the additional 2psi of boost bump which compensates the 1.1/2 degrees of timing removed .

I don't think you can use the burger tuner with the N63tu engine if I'm not mistaken due to it being some different valvetronic system. You should check with Burger before plunking down money.

I just confirmed with Terry that all 2013's are N63 w/ type B harness. I downloaded the install guide from his site and it seems pretty easy and straight forward. Looks like I will be getting one.

Also, check this out... http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18035

I emailed them about the availability for a 2103 740li and this s the answer I got back:

Hi Anthony,

The N55 Stage 1 and Stage 2 units are compatible with the 740i. You can read more about each unit here:
http://burgertuning.com/N55_Jb_BMW_P...nce_Tuner.html
http://www.burgertuning.com/N55_Stage2_Jb4.html

For the stage 2 unit, you will need to make sure your vehicle has the CAN access wires in order to ensure compatibility. The 740i uses the same hardware as the F10/F30 installation so you can select that type when checking out. You can read more information about the CAN wires and general information about the F10/F30 installation here:
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18588
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showpo...16&postcount=3

Best,

Jon
BMS

end of email...

a yes or no would have sufficed, lol. But seriously, all I needed to know was whether they have a tune for the 2013 740LI and he doesnt specifically say yes or no to the 2013. The reason I would like an exact answer is because on their website they specifically say you cant use this or that for this model. They need to update their website as well and add a Model link..."If you have this /make/year/model then this is what you can buy" type setup KISS.
