Well finally through all the drama and confusion, my F31 finally arrived at the dealer today. Going through PDI in the next few days and should pick it up in the weekend!

Cant wait to see in person!

Placed my F31 order going on 2 weeks ago...still no allocation date assigned, although I'm "first in line" according to my CA. What production date are folks getting on orders placed in the last few weeks? Clearly, I'm looking at a mid- to late June build at earliest, what's the worst case?

Generally, an existing order slot can be amended up to a week or so before the car actually goes into "production". This would mean body shell built and painted if I recall correctly.

If the dealer had an unsold production allocation for your F31 that was not scheduled to go into production for a week or two, then they could assign you that production number and amend the existing order in the system. If the stars aligned in such a manner, then you could get a production slot within a couple of weeks. The answer to your question is what is their first unsold and amendable production slot.

Nope, sadly they don't have any unassigned production slots, they are all taken by other customer orders. Thus, I'm now waiting for them to get more F31 production slots allocated. How often to dealers get new allocations?

The receive a monthly allocation of each model and body style. This allows the factory to plan production schedules. They can also trade slots with other dealers if they have something to offer that the other dealer wants/needs. Otherwise, right now I would expect they would be receiving July allocations.

Rumor had it that there was no May production on the F31 wagon.

F31 Touring Sport Wagon Ordered Thread

I was told that there was no production in May. Looks like another lie from the dealer I did not buy from. Actually cancelled my wagon order and instead got a 2014 X3 35i

Great looking touring.

Ahh, I'm down at Cactus/101.
I hope to see your car driving around.
As I have AZ plates BMW E28, BMW E38, and BMW E86, I'm easy to spot.

I really like the car. Luxury Line, Imperial Blue, Brown Interior, Tech Package, Premium, Park Assist.

The Park Assist work amazingly well. Probably will not use it much, but I do like it none the less. The 4 cylinder turbo is plenty. The lines of the Sport Wagon in person look great to my eyes.

The residual was not as high as I was hoping (59%), but it is what it is.

The car has been in the country for three weeks, but I needed to wait to make my final lease payment on my 2010 Audi Q5. Audi Finance was a pain....my purchase option was only good for me buying out the lease, so I could not trade it to BMW. Thus I had to pay the sales tax, etc. Audi finance was quoting almost $10K more to my dealer for the buyout then what I could buy it for. Apparently Audi and Ford are the only companies that pull that stuff....we Audi wont get me back in spite of the fact that the Q5 was a really great car.

Builds after May 1st were with the black rails. The product manual states black rails as part of the MSport package. The dealer is checking with BMWCA to see why that occurred.

New here. My dealer notified me that the order bank for the 328d opened yesterday. Looking forward to having my first BMW and first time ordering a car. Going with mineral grey, black leather, premium, cold weather, lighting, harmon-kardon, and rear shades. I am curious to see how this process goes since it is not on sale yet. He was out yesterday but said he had the sales manager enter my name and options. i will need to find out today what that exactly means.

Picked mine up yesterday and I'm very glad that I got the DHP as the stock suspension is too soft for my tastes. Haven't had a chance to slam some curves but DHP should do the trick.

Congratulations! Can you post some pix. That is the color and model I am planning to get. Seems closest to my Titanium Silver. Would also like to hear a review of the car. Tnx.

Both cars look great. Those are the two colors I was considering and I have to say the silver looks awesome, especially with the black wheels (are they factory?).
If it is not to much trouble, could I ask either of you to post a photo of the car from the side on level ground. Were those cars ordered with or without the Dynamic Handling Package?
Thanks, Rich

This is day two of my F31 experience. So far I'm impressed with the overall feel and character of the car. The leatherette interior is going to be great for kayaking, speaking of....

For me the DHP is a must as the base suspension is very soft. What a difference from my missed Audi TTS. That car would break kidney stones up on the standard suspension setting (which was fine with me). The sport setting on the TTS could cause traumatic brain injury.

Wow!... you know your kayaks. There aren't many RockPools in NA. Great boat but I'm a little rusty after winter's passing. Got knocked over twice in conditions that wouldn't have troubled me last October and I had difficulty not broaching on waves. Practice will cure that.

The rack is a Thule 887xt Slipstream. Much to my surprise, I can load the kayak from the rear without hitting the wagon's tailgate. The rack is clamped on BMW crossbars that cost me around $280 and they are worth the price. They fit very nice and require no tools.

Here's another angle (messed with the color a little so the car's color is not accurate):

The logo on the stern was the clue. Where did you get that screw in bolt for the bow tie down?
