I think it's the tow eye, isn't it.

Very sharp-looking car. Darn sharp looking.

Got it out of the boot but I bought the second one. It was a lot cheaper than the last one I bought (which was for an Audi Avant).

BTW, on my F31 the ASS holds its setting straight from the strudel factory. I shut it off and its staying off.

picked mine up last week for ED in Munich. Really nice ride. It will be torture to wait for the 8-10 weeks to pass for the US delivery after I drop the car off next week.

You broke the 12-hour ED compliance rule

Looks like the F31 (this may be applicable to the F30s as well) with Sport Line or M Sport Line made after June will be required to have a $500 option called "Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles". Supposedly, the sport automatic transmission will behave more sporty than the normal steptronic automatic transmission.

I wonder what your source is for this information. I just (today) ordered an F31 Sport Line which probably won't be built until July, and nothing was mentioned about that.

I changed my existing order last week and noticed several items were different:
- Inclusion of the Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles option
- Driver assistance package price drop from $1900 to $950 (top/side view cameras and Active Blind Spot Detection options show up as no charge)

My CA provided me the information about the change.

Wow! I just ordered an F31 Sport Line today, and the Driver Assistance Package was listed at $1900, as it still is on BMW's "Build Your Own" web site. The only thing I saw for $950 was the Cold Weather Package.

Officially, the pricing guide for 2014 (post June) F30 and F31 has not yet been released. The website will not reflect these changes until after they have been released.

If it is not to much trouble, could I ask either of you to post a photo of the car from the side on level ground. Were those cars ordered with or without the Dynamic Handling Package?
Thanks, Rich

This is the closest I have to a side shot. I do not have DHP. The suspension is too soft and i'm waiting (un)patiently for xdrive H&R springs. The height in the rear is right but the front too high. Other then that I'm happy. The versatility of the wagon is wonderful.

The wheels are factory Msport 18's powder coated. I guess I have a type (my e90) Click image for larger version

Thanks for the info and photos. I agree about the ride hight in the front. Again, the car looks great, good luck with it.

Rich,

these are the only two I have taken straight on from the side. My F31 does have DHP. In Canada, it is sold as M Adaptive Suspension.

Thanks. I appreciate it. It looks to me that the ride hight is the same for cars with or without DHP. Now, to decide on the color.

The Driver's Assistance package change would make sense to align it with the 2014 4 series ordering guide. They moved side/top view (5DL) and blind spot (5AG) into the assistance plus package (ZDB). So ZDA becomes $950 with only PDC (508) and read view (3AG), while ZDB increases in price and includes 5DL, 5AG, 5AD, and 8TH.

If you are getting 5DL and 5AG for no cost, it is probably a glitch and I would run with it. I don't see them just cutting the price in half - we are after all, talking about BMW options.

Non-sport steering wheel and steptronic auto end production in June. Sport steering wheel and sport transmission with paddle shifters become standard

Its great to see more and more of these things on the road!

Has it annoyed anyone yet the noise the direct injection makes at cold start? Im not too fond of it but goes away after the engine is warmed up it seems like.

Welcome home, F31. Don't be too jealous of your older brother, you have the paint color he always wanted.

I had IND Distribution paint a set of the front reflectors and color matched grills. They do great work, highly recommended.

I was looking at a BMW brochure from May 2012 announcing the iDrive and navigation upgrades. It implied that it would appear that year in the F31. Would those who have already taken delivery please advise as to whether you have it. In addition to the controller touch pad it is supposed to have improved graphics and full color 3D maps. Has any of this shown up as yet?

All F31s coming to the US have the upgraded NBT navigation system internals (processor, memory, graphics). However, as of now they do not have the touchpad controller. I assume that will change in July builds with the rest of the F3x 2014 models, so if that is important to you make sure you do not get an early build car.

The speed and responsiveness of the new nav hardware is a major improvement.

My mineral gray M-Sport is in! I am picking it up on Wednesday next week. I'm kicking myself right now for not getting the M-Performance package. When I placed the order for it, the prices were not available. I was expecting it to be much more expenseive than what it was.

Anyways... No m-adaptive or the big blue brakes for me...

Thank you Analogue....
I just want to make sure that I understand correctly that the F31's currently shipping have everything but the touchpad controller, which I can do without. I assume that you already have an F31, and can verify this to be the case.
