Auxiliary input issue on 2012 X3

Hi All,

As I said that I recently purchased 2012 x3 xdrive a month ago form a non BMW dealer, so far I everything looks fine and I started liking the vehicle. But lately I found out one thing in my car, that is when I play music through my mobile connecting through Auxiliary input cable I see that I can hear the music coming only from my right side speakers, to make sure I went to settings, tone and there I adjusted my volume balancing complete to left from middle, and I donít hear anything at all. And again when I bring that to the middle I hear only from my right side speakers.

So my question is this a manufacture issue? If so will it be covered under BMW warranty?

Also shell I talk to my dealer from whom I bought the vehicle is this there responsibility, or directly talk to BMW . I know itís also my mistake that I should have checked this before I purchased the vehicle.

Any suggestions pleaseÖ.

Have you tried a different cable?

I would check the cable and make sure it's inserted all the way. If the cable isn't seated properly you'll only get sound from one side.

Technician's rule of thumb: always check cables first.

I am curious to know if there is indeed an issue with the OPs vehicle but find it incredible that the knee jerk reaction is to assume the problem is with the $50k vehicle and not the $2 cable
