Look for stuff like Mann.

They are cheap, good quality (BMW OEM supplier) and easy to get over the net. Unsure about the specific code for your car, but it looks like this one.

K&N. One filter lasts the life of the car and only needs cleaning every 50K.

^flame suit on. I have one in my e34 and ran them in other vehicles. No noticeable changes in HP or MPG. Only real advantage is you can wash and reuse them. Washing the filter one time will pay for 4 filters. Others will claim in a loss of HP or MPG or that you can damage the motor because it ingests the filter oil. I say damage is a result of improper care and use of the filter, not the filter itself. My $.02

A K&N filter costs around $50, plus you need to buy a cleaning/oiling kit. An OEM MANN filter costs $22. It would take ~4 years to break even on a K&N filter, plus your risk of destroying your MAF if you over oil.

I used K&N and paid $400 to fix MAF within 3-4 months of the filter. Changed back to OEM.
