Q. On going from a 335i(N55) to a 335iS(N54)...

Will I notice a difference in lag? My current N55 has very little lag and that's good. Have 2013 iS on order. Is the "older" design engine more laggy. Appreciate your replies. Thanks,

Steve Foster

A myth. Keep your foot entirely flat on the pedal....what lag?

Have no idea other that stock to stock the IS is much quicker & has more power than an N55 with a PPK

There are two instances IMO where there is any noticeable lag. One is during light to moderate acceleration through the gears, especially the 2-3 shift, and if I give it some gas while cruising in 6th. Even in these instances it's like a 1/4 sec at most. The N54 Rocks!!

Also just got the intake valves walnut blasted and the car has become much more responsive and it feels like there is even less lag then before.
