F15 BMW X5 spied testing in California

BMW F15 X5 spied testing in California

Bimmerfest member Steve Padrick snapped this picture of a heavily disguised F15 X5 testing in California. When BMW starts testing in California for CARB certification you know we're getting close to production.

The third generation BMW X5, chassis code F15 starts production in August 2013. An inadvertent leak a few months ago gives us a good idea what BMW is hiding under the camouflage. The F15 will be an evolution of the current E70 X5 with just a few changes to the exterior. Most notable the 'air breather' side vent. Power for the X5 remains unchanged, with a xDrive35i and range topping xdrive50i. An interesting addition is the sDrive35i rear wheel drive. At the end of the year the oil burning xDrive35d goes into production.

What do you think guys? I am not really a fan of the new style. Although I think it could definitely grow on me.

I think the new tailight will look really cool

Interior I am sure will be an improvement

the front end... I hope they don't screw it up like the 3 series...

I am sure it will look good in the M-sport package, as usual... and look lame in the base model...as usual.
