Ok, I'm totally confused about all those lights... I have 2010 X5 35d with yellowish lights. Can I use those H8 or I need to have something else also?

I did read a lot and I remember something like "as long it's 35w you are fine". Those in that thread 35W so, can I just replace them and I'm done?

I did check and I have H8 in my car with 35W so I think I will give it a shot as well.

Thanks!

This may be a stupid question. But do I have halogens or xenons in my car?

Why would those 7 series dudes have halogens?

Isn't 7 series top of the line?

In the above thread, they are putting in halogen bulbs. When I asked on page 2, one dude said halogen.

I'm so confused at this point.

Yes, for angel eyes. Those round things in their (and our pre-LCI and some LCI X5s) are lit by halogen bulbs.

Ok i'm starting to get it.

1. So the LUX LED retrofit kit changes only the outer ring, which are called angel eyes?

2. So putting in a 7k halogen bulb in the outer ring might be a cheaper and easier solution?

One halogen bulb powers both rings on each side.
Imagine a typical BMW fascia

RockChip,

I did the same (bought GP Thunder). If you want I can post a pic how they look like.

UPDATE. Here's photos of GP on my car... Not that yellow more like rainbow now

It doesn't appear to illuminate the outer rings too well..

Yep... That's true. And, in real, it not blueish color, as i said it's more like rainbow over there... Oh well, will keep it for awhile.

I think I will go with two GP Thunder II 7500k 35w H8 bulbs, instead of 8500k

So your angel eyes are a bunch of LEDs in the actual corona vs one bulb that powers both coronas?

Mine is LED white as well and without really looking at it, I think its two bulbs powering both rings individually... my reason behind this is that the both inner and outer rings are equally bright versus my older BMW's that had the inner lights brighter than the outer lights..

But then again it maybe that the LED lights distribute lights better than the halogens?
