Foot Swipe to Open

I'm looking at the F07 550xi. I like the swipe to open feature, but am not sure what adds it. I saw someone say "comfort access" in another thread, but that's not a package on the 550's.

Is it only in the executive package then, or is it in there stock? Seperatly, The price of the executive package on the 550 really pisses me off. 4k for a couple features that should be standard and some things I don't want at all. Please tell me that's not the only way to get it.

I think the items in comfort access package are standard on the 550, optional on the 535.

My 2013 550ix GT has the Executive package and comfort access options. Yes, the foot swipe opens the trunk. Unfortunately, I don't recall if this feature is part of a specific option package.

Well we have our car. A few disappointments. The foot swipe is not present and they say it is not available until next year on the GT so those who got it may be lucky. I ordered MSport mostly for the steering wheel and paddles and NO paddle shifters. They say my rep did not inform me correctly. Might be able to get this corrected stateside. With the Exec package I was also expecting the vent levers to have ceramic finger grabs but they are aluminum. This may have been a mistake and be corrected. Last negative is that I was also led to believe that we would have Eco, Com Plus, Com, Sport, Sport Plus with out having to order anything special. We only have Eco, com, and sport. Will discus with our CA when we get home.

Setting those few things aside. It is a lovely car. Pics will follow. I have only put 7 miles on it but we drive tomorrow and I suspect it will be amazing. Very roomy. Very easy to drive in the Munich traffic. The BMW Welt experience was great.

The vent levers are aluminum with the Executive package.
The foot swipe should be present in your model with the Executive package.
You may need the Dynamic Handling Package to have the various drive options including sport plus.

My options in the 550ix GT included the:
Driver Assistance Package
Driver Assistance Plus
Dynamic Handling Package
Executive Package

Enjoy your new car. Your concerns about these omissions will not detract from the pleasure you'll receive once you drive on the Autobahn. Oh my!

Autobahn Parking Lot

Hey, pistachio. Thanks for the follow up. We had fun on the autobahn for about half of it and then it was like about 3mph for 12 miles. Lol. We had the active cruise comtrol and it worked like a champ. Our new gal has LOTS of power. Goodness. We took it easy on her as she's new but popped up to 110 a couple of times and barely knew it. She's sweet. We get back in her Sunday and my wife will, take us the next leg.

Did you opt to have the vehicle redelivered at the Performance Center in SC? Since you're not far away, it's a really nice option. Probably too late, but maybe not. If you have it redelivered there, you get a free night in a hotel, a tour of the X? manufacturing plant, and some time on the track with the guidance of a pro - meals included, all free. It's a really nice way to see what a (similar, not yours) BMW can do on the track, and did I mention, it's all free? Well, you have to get there and back...

@DuctorDoc: Congratulations -- the first wait is over. Yes, the GT is one heck of a cruiser. We were percolating along on the Autobahn, between Nuremburg and Munich, at a sustained 135mph, when She Who Must Be Heard leaned over and asked: "do you know how fast you're going?!?" - me: "yup, 135" - She Who: "huh, doesn't feel a stitch over 70".

All the best on your trip, and do post up a couple of pictures as time permits!

FWIW, the recommended break-in limit is 100mph for the first 1K miles...and to avoid multiple gear downshifts.

My 535 xDrive GT has foot swipe, although I don't recall if it was part of the comfort access package and warm weather packages ordered or just standard to the GT. I did not order executive package.

While not a foot swipe, my 2011 has a feature that if you push the key fob button with the 'horizontal diamond' for one second the rear hatch opens. I believe I learned of that on this forum and don't recall seeing it in the owners manual. I wonder if that function is there in addition to foot swipe or was replaced by it.
