BMW Performance Exhaust for sale or trade...

I would like to trade my brand new BMW performance exhaust (it came pre-installed from the VPC on the 2012 335i coupe I just bought on March 28th) for a stock exhaust from a 2012-2013 335is if anyone is interested. I think my exhaust is made for a person of a younger vintage.

You have a coupe right? I wonder if its possible to fit it on the sedan...

Have you heard the 335is exhaust? It's still pretty loud

I think the "is" note is somewhere in between the stocker and the PE. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I own the PE on a 328 coupe and my old college roommate has the IS.

Startup is quieter on the "is", but at higher revs, the volume is reasonably comparable. The PE has a deeper tone.

I was told they were the same. When I was looking to buy, I wanted to hear the PE and the performance sales guy at the dealearship took me out for a ride in an is and said it is exactly the same. While the time between that ride and the actual installation was a couple of weeks, my gut is that it was pretty close. I still think you should give it a couple of thousand miles. I now have about 1500 miles on my PE and the tone is definitely different/better now than right after installation. It seems more mellow and less raspy.

I think I need to test them side by side.

I suspect that I'll put a few more miles on this thing before anyone with an IS system offers to trade so time will tell. I like the PE, it's just that I don't like to hear any exhaust tone or drone at cruise. The PE is audible at cruise. Anyone who says otherwise is deaf or lying. Like I said, my C63 was the perfect combination. Angry bitch on the throttle and quiet as a mouse at cruise. MB got it right with their naturally aspirated 63 cars.

I would say "barely" audible at cruise at 75-80. And certainly no drone. I can honestly say that with the radio on, I do not notice it at all. When I turn the radio off I do hear it very slightly. I do not find it offensive in any way. And I am an old guy too. But to each their own and if you don't like it or want, then off with it, I say.
