Is this real life?

So I was parked in front of my friends house helping him my other two friends clean their e90's in the driveway. One of my friends says, Ethan, someone just hit your car. I thought he was joking because we often joke about our cars having problems, but I looked up anyway and I saw an f150 pulling away and setting my car back onto the ground. I still couldn't comprehend what was happening. The woman who was backing out of her driveway said her back up camera didn't pick it up for some reason... But anyway, I got all their info and everything and I'm making a claim and everything tomorrow. I don't know if it'll be totaled because the damage looks like it only affected the driver door. Although, it did push my dash over and broke my glove box handle. We''ll see what happens.

WTF with pick-up drivers??? One backed into my Z last month, finally got it back from the body shop. Need a camera to drive it? Then maybe you shouldn't be driving it, really.

I was backed into by a chevy avalanche about 5 months ago. I think it was the top was down and he couldnt see me in the rearview, but still hurt me. It was driver side rear fender, but looks good as new now.

It was a dark night. Maybe the F150's back up lights were not strong enough to make the side of your black Z3 show up on the F150's back up camera. I guess she relies on the camera instead of the rear view mirror or turning her head.

Based on personal experience that's about 5-6K in damage.

Oh, shoot! I forgot I posted this thread! Thanks for the support everyone. But, the claims people should be coming today to look at it. If it is totaled, I'm worried I won't get much money for it because it has 181k on it. Although, would my engine being rebuilt at 150k be of any help to the value?

Sorry for leaving this thread hanging for so long. Well, it ended up being totaled. Its been a while since I've had this car and these pictures are making me miss it again. I ended up getting a 330i ZHP for super cheap. only cost me 300 more bucks than what my payout was. I'm definitely happy with my new car and I'm loving it more every day but its just missing that attitude that this car had. I think I can make it a little more pissed off but I don't know if ill ever get it to the coupes level. ill post new car pics in a few minutes.

Very nice 330i. We had one in Topaz blue for 6 years from 40k miles to 140ish. Only time is let us down is when a pulley exploded. Minor repair needed.

What was the buy back from the Ins company? You could have parted it out and made some bucks. THe hood alone could net you 800 +. Looks like it just needed a door, which is relatively easy to find. GL with new ride.

Ya, looking back i definitely should have bought it bak. i don't remember exactly how much but i believe that the buy back was only like 1500 or 1750. I could have easily made some money with that or turned it into a track rat. thats what i should have done.

I drive an F150 SuperCrew, and I use a backup camera (with night vision).
It is useful because you can actually miss something in the rear by just using the mirrors; especially a low height vehicle, bike, dog, kid, etc; AND I always walk around before backing up; when I was a kid I almost got run over so it stuck in mi mind to try and be safe both driving a or being around cars.

Now, the lady saying the camera missed it?
I doubt it, she probably miscalculated or did not brake in time....

Just my 2 cts as a pick-up driver... Cheers
