My radar detector mod

So here is my new radar detector mod. Didn't turn out how I wanted but it works well. The original design was supposed be housed inside the rear view mirror housing but it was a tight fit for the electronics even with the radar detector taken apart to pieces.

The switch next to the SOS button sends power and if I forget to switch it off the power gets turned off automatically!
Let me know what you all think.

Is that a 360 degree radar detector, if so, isn't the sensor being blocked for your rear protection?

No I took it apart to see the sensors and there's one in the front and one on the side. Side one is the 360.

The install looks great! How fast can you remove it, in case you get pulled over? It is never a good idea to let the law see the defector. It then becomes very hard to talk your way, out of the ticket!

I have my V1 integrated into the HUD of my C6 Corvette utilizing a device from Dashtronix. This device goes inline from the V1 to the OBD II port. All displays on the V1 turn off and the HUD now displays the V1 information. Very cools stuff. Might check with Dashtronix to see if they offer an interface for the 6? http://www.dashtronix.com/

Looks great! Are radar detectors even legal in CA?

No need they are legal in California so it's not a hassle and the way it sits it kind of looks as if it belongs there!
