Firesafe mode

I am a new to the BMW... I have a 02 745Li it keeps saying the transmission is in firesafe mode but wen i turn it off n cycle the key 3 times it drives like normal agin untill it warms up i guess then it will do it agin

Failsafe mode is the way the transmission keeps itself from further damage

Find an independent shop or auto parts store that can pull the codes from the ODBII port. Getting the codes is a starting point. Maybe another member close to your area can help.

I had that done before and the guy told me its was not sending a signal for 5th and 6th gear but he said because the car was sitting for a while i may just need to drive it for a while and try and let the computers get back on track or he said he can update my systems

Mein Auto: BMW E65 745i
Sounds like the bridge seal is on the way out, mine started acting up when hot, couldn't get it out of park, gear errors etc... then got worse I would select R but the car would go forwards! Its a common problem the seal is about $5 but its a good few hours work, oil and filter change will need doing too.
