Okay, so I used sports mode today, I really didn't feel a difference except it seems less MPG - is it to help me make more friends with gas attendants? I never paid so much attention to the price of gas as I have lately, I miss those once a month fill-ups lol.

This mod works for those were asking. Half of it is in your head. I had a blitz throttle controller in my Z. It essentially doubles voltage and and gets rid of drive by wire lag by sending the signal faster. So where half way down on the pedal was 50% throttle, its now 75% or more depending upon setting. You are getting to 100% throttle sooner because the pedal travels less of a distance to do so.

Will it give you more power? No.
Where you gain on acceleration is the delay from signal and the time it takes you to floor it...not actually revving faster.

Sport mode changes throttle mapping and transmission shift points and characteristics (such as no torque converter lockup, gear held while coasting, etc). Sure, you (or someone can sell you a program to do so) can program the throttle mapping anyway you like, but there will be trade-offs in drivability, fuel economy, enjoyment, etc.

I think I'll stick with my Sport Mode. I like the flexibility of pushing the button for more performance. I think with my exhaust mod, with Sport Mode engaged, the car runs great. Big difference between
normal and Sport Mode in my car. The computer in your car has the ability to adjust to the type of driving you do. I'm a driver, so even in regular mode, the car has a performance edge. At over 100k, I'm having more fun driving my car now, then when I purchased the car with 32k miles on it in early 2008.

Like the others always say, your driving a 7 series. Does MPG really matter to you? My MPG; half full, I fill it up... Great MPG... :-)
With the Sport Mode Engaged, I can watch the gas needle move toward empty. Sure is fun driving it though...

The independent station at Manchester and La Tijera Blvd. They seem to have the best prices for premium gas.

Don't know that, but I gas up twice a week. If I stay in normal drive and stay out of it, I can go a week with one fill up with the distance I drive. That rarely happens though...
