question about climate control unit

ok this is one of the electrical gremlins i am not sure about. before i shut off my car i will shut off the climate control unit by turning the fan all the way down and off. after i shut off my car and it goes into sleep mode i will get back in and when i turn the key on the climate control is automatically on. is it supposed to do this or should it stay shut off when i get back in and turn the key on?

You turn it all the way off before shutting off the car. Then you come back turn the key on and its in the lowest setting? It automatically turns on when the key is turned on even if you powered it off before the shuting the car off.

Now if the blower motor is coming on when you open the door or hit the key unlock you poly need a new blower motor. E38.org for that.

This is for the E39, but it should help with the E38 setup:
- How to learn about (1) and set up your air conditioning (1) (2)
