iDrive Wheel Is Possessed (twitches and turns by itself)

Hello everyone,

I have a 2006 750i whose electronics slowly have been dying. It started with the SVS module, but I put a lollipop in its place since I don't use it. But recently, the iDrive wheel acts as it is possessed and turns like the girl from The Exorcist. It happens as soon as I touch it, but it doesn't happen every time.

It happens in all areas: navigation, music, comfort, etc etc etc.

Any thoughts?

For an $80K car, this sure has a lot of problems.

Thanks in advance.

I've got the same car. That happened to mine recently when I bought the 2013 nav discs and updated the software. I just shut my car off and turned it back on and it seemed to fix it.

Mine sometimes does the same. There is a thread on here from a long time ago....someone recommended to push down really hard on the knob when it happens. That solves it for me for a while (like months). Try that and see if it helps
