cobb chip or jb4.....????

I know they are both good and creditable flashes for my my ecu but which is better? Or who has had good/bad experiences with either. I love that the cobb gives me something to read and is a lot easier to use. But i hear the jb4 gives more power. Please help me cause i want to get one soon and i have no clue which one i should get.

This is the question of our times. But has it been asked afore?

SEARCH can reveal the truth! Oddly, that word appears toward the top of this page, permanently affixed. I'm tempted to click on it, but would prefer someone else try....

Oh, and before you add power the car wan't designed for, you should look into suspension/drivetrain mods. Really, you'll be much happier after doing some.

Did a lot of searching and they both are sweet. I still like the idea of the cobb for the handheld device instead of gauge cluster/steering wheel controls. But my question wasnt really answered. Any bad experiences with cobb or jb4? I don't plan on doing tons of mods, just some good bolt-ons and possibly lowering car. any suggestions on springs/shocks?

You are increasing the stress on the car. THere is always a chance something gives. That said it is very rare to see a thread on any of the sites that says "OMG Cobb, Dinan, JB4, Proceed killed my car" Warm the car up right do prevent maintenance to address increase wear and these cars can easily run near 600hp.

I just had the stage 3 dinan put on and love it. You could probably part it out cheaper and then save on all the labor but if you don't know what you're doing can't go wrong their in my op.

The truth is: Both deliver great power; both are very, very safe.

Similarity ends there. Cobb's hand held device can be dropped, lost, or stolen. JB4's installed in the ECU area - takes awhile t'get there - ain't nobody gonna get it without stealing the car.

JB4 can be operated with driver controls while driving, including switching maps at will. Forget all that with Cobb - ain't gonna happen. Couple o'button pushes as you're motoring, you're in adaptive map 5. Or straight boost Map 1. Or meth map. Or custom map of your own design. Or just go to stock for service, or if the mood strikes. With JB4, not Cobb. Not possible with Cobb.

Coffin nail: Cobb don' do meth. JB4 leaves Cobb in a distant second place w/meth. Way back there. Wait....did that other BMW disappear from my rear view?

I could switch maps at some of the longer dc traffic lights I think it took about 3 minutes switching. I do worry about drop, break, and steal, with the ap. It is not like a panasonic tough-book in durability either. I was actually thinking about trying it the other day.

It disappeared cause the cobb got so out in front he stopped trying

Say, here's some info....you'll want to look at his engine teardown after many, many runs and stressed drives with meth. Oh, yes!

That's good press for Cobb! However, ProTune Race, last I heard, was beta. Their finished product is $3k for software only - Accessport's a separate expense. Still, excellent software.
