Help required with default audio volume

Hi, this is my first post in this very lively forum.
Just got a new 520d SE F11 SE with professional navigation system. Love the car, and all is fine aside from the default audio volume.

When switching on the radio it starts with the volume very low, well basically no volume at all. Same with the music. So, the first thing I have to do after starting the engine is to increase the volume.

Another snag is that when I set a reasonable level for the radio or music it tuerns up that is far too high for the traffic announcements, when they come on they make me jump.

I assumed that the default reference volume of the different sources (phone, radio, music, traffic announcement) can be preset individually by the user, but so far I failed to find the required information.

Suggestions are welcome

While the phone, radio, music, traffic announcement is talking, adjust the volume knob.

Not sure I'm right on this, but audio settings for each driver are saved. Adjust your volume for the radio, and other items, as the previous person noted, and re-save your memory position 1 or 2. See if that helps. I don't have the volume issue, it's always where I left it (I usually turn it down slightly when I shutdown so it's not too loud upon restart).

Totally agree with xmen. Each function requiring volume must be set via the volume control when that function is being used.
e.g. Voice recognition volume can only be set when the sweet lady is talking. Set it once and you should be happy.

I've never been able to save my set volume (Comfort Access). It always defaults to a low volume setting, unless I restart before the electronics shut down. I've always assumed as noted in the below quote that BMW does this so the radio does not start at a high volume.

I never have either and find it annoying to constantly turn the volume up every time I get in the car.
