e28 buying question

hey guys,
im looking to buy a 535i e28 from a guy on craigslist. the car is in good shape paint is faded, and interior is in good shape. all machanicle aspects work such as power seats and sunroof and more.
here are the specs.
-240k miles
-new sparkplugs
-new clutch master cylinder
-new fuel pump
-replaced all main relays

hes asking 1600$ is this a good price for the car? i havent been down to him to test drive it yet or look but this is all the information i have from txting him. let me know what you guys think. thanks,

Drive the car and look it over very carefully. Evaluate all the major systems if you can: electrical, brakes, engine, trans, clutch, suspension, steering, cooling system, body integrity, heating and air cond, etc. It's not a bad price if you like it, but expect to spend some money on repairs. E28's are not very difficult to work on, but find one worth keeping if you want to be a happy owner.

Last year I paid $1500 for a 528e with 250l miles, little rust on front fender, everything works, needs new speakers, and paint. Seller was son of the woman who bought it new, so I have original sales receipt and all maintenance records.
I got it out of the garage today after the longish Chicago winter, and it is a joy to drive. Once the battery was jumped, started right up. I am a happy guy today. Plus when I take it off road, I always have a bench to rest on --- the front bumper!
