2006 BMW 330i Bluetooth Phone issues

I have the standard stereo model, not the I drive.

Everything works with the stereo, radio, cd and Bluetooth connects to my iPhone 5 without an issue.

The problem is there is no sound for any of the phone functions, no voice, no mic picking up my voice, no ringing etc...

I have seen a few threads about this but none seem to actually give the solution. It seems like it happens enough where there should be a way to identify the problem.

It does not look like any modifications were done to this car, at all.

Go to your trunk and unplug the Bluetooth module. I believe there's a couple of instructional videos on YouTube.

What will unplugging accomplish? Then do I replug it as some sort of reset?

Thanks.

Exactly. It will reset the entire module. I had the same problem on my 330 twice and both times it fixed the issue. Unplug, replug, and resync your phone.

How can I know what part is the Bluetooth module?

Driver's side compartment in your trunk. You'll have to do that YouTube search I mentioned. It's been a while, but I recall it's a pretty obvious looking plug. Unplug and replug. Kinda like resyncing your home modem. Pretty straight forward.

I was able to find it and tried this two times.

I noticed I do have the Logic 7 system. Also there is another plug which was wrapped up and not plugged into the amp. It appeared to be the same connection as the one that was plugged in. I tried plugging it in instead of the one that was plugged in, but this turned the assist and phone modes off when I rebooted the stereo so assume that was for an additional input of some sort.

Nevertheless I tried this and unplugging the standard cable and the same problem exists.

I do not want to take this to a shop for something that seems his trivial. Are there any other do it yourself diagnostics or things I should check out first?

Did it ever work?Also FYI

If it works with and older phone it may not be compatible with the new one.

Also the extra optic cable near the amp is for the CD disk cassette player option.
Its not hooked into the most loop so leave it alone or as is.

I just bought the car so I don't know. I will try to get an older phone but I connected two iPhone 5's and my iPad all with the same results.

Any fix you've found? I have a 2009 328i that I retrofitted with a Bluetooth mic, and people still can't hear me.
