Looking to get a 2006 325xi

Hey all I am looking into getting a 325xi with 73k miles. Is there any problems or defects I should know about. Never owned a BMW, just have always wanted one and my lease is about due on my Chrysler. I know nothing is perfect but I want to protect myself and make sure I am getting into something I will enjoy and not have to dump piles of cash into.

Run Flat tires are crap you don't get a spare.
There are many threads on this.

There is no dipstick its electronic

The lifetime fluids should be changed.
Google Mike Miller BMW for the old school maintenance schedule.

The two design issues with the car are valve ticking and valve cover or
head bolt breakage. There are also threads on that.

Expect to have to get a new electric water pump if it hasn't already been changed.
90k average for one of those.

The battery will go flat pretty quickly if the car isn't used and replacement
by the dealership and even some Indy's can be expensive.( Because of the
battery registration process)
It it's a 2006 and hasn't had a battery change it will probably need one very soon.

+1
Just bought one, sight unseen, from Enthusiast Auto Group in Cincinnati because all of the mentioned issues have been addressed. Immediately drove it 1100 miles home with no problems. The run-flats have been replaced with Potenzas so no issue there. Rather than a spare I carry a Mobility Kit. Not an ideal solution but better than nothing. Will get a donut spare plus jack for out of town trips.
Did my homework and feel this car is what we want to compliment our Z-3. Traded a 2003 E39, a true maintenance pig if there ever was one, on the 325ixT.
Like everything BMW you have to have a program of preventive maintenance in place and the rewards will be great.
Good luck.
