How do I define frustrating....

By three words, Port of Exit.

My M3 coupe arrived at the port on 4/15 and is still there. Meanwhile two vessels have taken others vehicles for delivery to the VPC in New Jersey. The next vessel departs on 5/2.

Yep, been there. I think it was in response to your question on timing from build that I said could be a couple of weeks at he port. Have you contacted your SA? At this point he/she should be able to tell which ship your is scheduled for...

I have spoken with my SA but he has only stated "still at the port". I have not directly asked if it has been scheduled to a vessel but I will.

I did speak with my SA yesterday, accordingly he, and by extension the dealership, will not know what vessel the vehicle will be loaded onto until 12 hours after departure. I would be interested in knowing if there is a way of checking for scheduled shipments.

Was it in transit to the port of exit?

In-terms of timing once on the "pond", estimate 3-4 weeks until it is delivered to the dealer.

they state that it is enroute to the US. it was at the port prior to "en route" status.

that was my estimate...3-4 weeks.

oh well. hope yours gets on its way soon!

I was wondering.. a while back you stated that you knew of two ships departing Bremerhaven and the dates of their departure. how did you find that out and do you have ship names?

The wait sucks, but it's worth it. Just wait till you go to M3 purgatory and can't rev the beast past 4,500 RPM.

All shipping to the states is handled by Wallenus & Wilhelmsen. On their website there's a search tool (for shipping schedules). Search by ports, departing Germany - Bremerhaven, and arriving at the US - New York (the VPC is really in NJ).

Link
http://sagaweb.2wglobal.com/AppSchedules/countryList.do

Looking at vessels departing on or after May 1st, there are three - the Mignon, Tombarra and Undine. I am hoping that my vehicle has been loaded onto the Mignon which departs today.

While many are, not all cars are shipped using WW. My car came on a K-Line ship, the Bosphorus Highway and landed in Brunswick, GA. Unfortunately K-Line does not offer the ability to search for your car by VIN...

John,

The journey is almost over (in a good way) for you. I would believe that your M3 should arrive at the dealership by the 15th.

Unfortunately, all indications show my vehicle still at the port of exit. Perhaps my CA will have a update for me on Monday.

John,

I believe your vehicle has made it to Tulley's inventory list. At minimum, the vehicle should be at the VPC. Unless you have having work done (exhaust, spoiler, etc), you should have it by next weekend. (pre) Congrats!

The unfortunate reality is the status remains unchanged. My vehicle is still at the port of exit. Accordingly, the sales mgr has spoken with several people at the regional distribution center. I'll have an update by Monday.

I still want the vehicle but if this continues, I may reconsider.

I'm post-ED so I expect mine to take a while, esp. since it's headed to the PCD. Just crossed 2 weeks since I dropped off in Frankfurt.

The Integrity just docked at Bremerhaven today, which is Baltimore-Charleston-Brunswick bound leaving Monday. Hoping I get on this one since I didn't make it onto the Chesapeake Highway which left on Friday.

The next New York bound one for nhman would be the Undine, leaving Tuesday, which gets into port of New York on May 30th.

I am following that one as well. I should be loaded onto the Undine. If not, frustration could morph into anger. I really want this vehicle but the more time passes I could see myself moving in a different direction.

As of today, it has been 27 days of idle time at the port of exit. There's still another 2 weeks of travel across the "pond", customs & VPC plus transportation to the dealer. Best case scenario is that I take delivery around June 6th.

Tomorrow will be the indicator as the sales mgr should have information for me. Stay tuned.

Undine just docked about an hour ago... leaving tomorrow. Here's to hoping you get on board.

I'm still in limbo... not showing up on the tracking still, so may not have made it on Integrity which is leaving tonight.

Accordingly, it will be on the Undine which departs tomorrow. Due to the delay, BMW offered to concession an accessory. I ask for and they agreed to a Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler.

In the end, I just want my car. The M3 is a vehicle that I have wanted for many years and finally the timing was right for me.

It should arrive at the dealer by the first week of June. I'll update the post as there are updates.

hey nhman. I am not sure if this will rub salt in the wound but I am going to get my m3 on Wednesday. I will send some pics. I have my sales guy send me a boat load of pics when it came off the carrier. it is nice to have bought a car from a car guy who gets our nuttiness.

I hope your car is on its way soon. also I think that they have a frozen blue one at Tulley.

As long as my M3 was loaded onto the vessel which departed today, all will be good with me. Please post some pictures.

I may stop by Tulley within the week to see the Frozen Blue M3. I suspect that it will be there for a few months.
