UNKNOWN Warning Symbol**

In the photo posted, I circled a warning light that came up recently and I've looked in the operators manual but I can't seem to find it. I know that if this shows up in the upper portion of the HUD it means needs servicing... But the car is recently serviced... This warning light I'm seeing is orange and very small, located just right of the gear position letter. Please help! Thanks!

That symbol could be anything like seat belt not worn to engine malfunction. Check the control messages to see what else pops up. My guess is it's not a bad thing since the time is displayed on the screen above and not an icon.

I usually see that thing because I don't have my seat belts on yet.

The car has registered some kind of error code that has not been cleared.

Thanks guys. Seat belt is being worn and it still shows. Service info from the CBS has been checked and is all good... So how can I clear the registered error then?

What, that little triangle w/exclamation?

If you have iDrive, zip down the menu to system/vehicle status and have a look - something won't be green. If no iDrive, a little more cryptic to access. Most often working the stalks to move through items in the center display will reveal the prob.

When the issue's corrected, the triangle will disappear. Could be low oil. Low fuel triggers. Hey, any warning puts it up to remind you that something needs attention.

Get in the car. Buckle your belt before you start the car so you don't get the chime. Watch the display as you start to see if it flashes anything as it starts (low washer fluid, etc.).

This comes up when you 'clear' the main message display without resolving the issue. For example, when the low fuel icon appears, you can click the computer button and the display returns to clock/temp. In the winter, I have a dedicated snow tires with no TPMS. This throws the low pressure warning and the small exclamation icon is always on.
