I need some tire help

Well this is my first post and seeing as how all the dealers are closed now I thought I'd see if anyone has some ideas.

I purchased a 04 545i. It is a sport model, however has a spare so doesn't have run flats.
It had Nitto's on it when I bought it and they were really choppy and loud so I just bought 4 new Potenza's for it. The guy had an improper tire size on the back, they were wider. I put the 275/35R/18's that the factory calls for on it. Now my tire light is on and also the car is shifting poorly. Any ideas as to what the heck is going on?

Thanks for any input,

Kirk

Congratulations on ur 545.. u have to reset the FTM... Push ur idrive knob,, go to settings then vehice/tires,, then FTM push reset.. then ull see staus active.. and thats it..
Ur tranny could b alotta things.. try a fluid change.. also turn on ur ignition with out starting the car.. hold down the gas pedal for 20 seconds / +.. it will reset the trany and learn ur driving style. try that and see how it does..

Let us know what happens!!!

These cars are so damn advanced, changing tire sizes can cause the abs to think the tires are rotating at different speeds and brake the car and/or **** down the throttle.

Hopefully one (or all) of the previous suggestions will help'

Yes that took care of everything! I've been throwing a bunch of money at this thing since I bought it..full detail with a 4 stage buff, Tires, Windshield seals, new emblems, I got new headlight seals...and realized the friggin bumper needs to come off in order to do it! I had a 525i before and I really like the V8 model. I'm getting ready to chase a small oil leak, something that seems like they all do.

Thanks for the help fellas!

Kirk
