Mein Auto: 2007 335xi
New 335xi owner with lots of odd questions...

I've been on here for a while searching. Can't find relevant information so I'm going to ask it with my slant.

First off, just bought a 2007 335xi with 89k miles, 6 sp manual, and a few options.

1) Aggressive shifting from 1st to 2nd is difficult. Easy shifting it shifts smooth. Aggressive shifting between say 3rd and 4th is fine, but between 1 and 2 feels like something is slowing it down or holding it up if you will. Hard to get a good fast shift between 1 and 2. Any thought? I have a 2002 330xi with 5 sp manual and it doesn't feel this way. This is the first 335 6 sp manual I've drove so I don't have a good comparison.

2) I bought the car from an out of state used car dealer (generic). Had the local BMW dealer pull service with VIN and it had the following listed:

DINAN BOOST UPGRADE,MFLR,OIL COOLER @ 6,563 ML

DINAN OIL COOLER, BOOST UP-GRADE INSTD @ 9,402 ML

DINAN OIL COOLER, BOOST UP-GRADE INSTD @ 12,833 ML

So my question is, what does this mean and how can I tell if it is still installed? I did some thumbing through Dinan's site and could come up with a few ideas, but it doesn't feel like it has "extra" power if you will.

3) It has the smokers package. *Is there a way to remove the ash tray and replace with the general cubby hole/sunglasses holder?

Thanks in advance....

Tony

For (3): http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...center+console
This link gives you how to remove the center console and put in the covered sunglasses holder using your current lid. You can also replace it with the deeper current cubbyhole if you wish.

1) 1-2 shifts are somewhat annoying, and it was discussed in detail and beat to death here. Just find the optimal shift point and you are good. Things to aid you in your quest - clutch stop and CDV delete (these are terms for search field).
2) do you have a reference point to compare "extra power" absence?
Go to realoem.com and get the part numbers for parts in question and compare to what you have installed. Could be a challenging task but sure will help to get your car a little bit better.

Good luck.

You can call Dinan, give them your VIN, and they can tell you what is installed on your car. Everything they install has a VIN attached to it. I looks like they installed an oil cooler. Your car must not have come with one.
