E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Mein Auto: 1991 BMW 318i Convertible
Cool Hey! Ambient temperature?

First of all. Hey to everybody here. I am new to the forums but have owned my BMW since November of 2012.

A quick background...

It is a black 1991 318i, convertible. It sits very low with about 3" of clearance between the oil pan and the ground (love how close to the ground it is) haha. But it looks great! It is sitting on coilovers, unsure of the brand to be honest, and the rear springs are cut. The car is in great condition given it's age. The M42 engine runs great, no issues. Tranny is a standard 5-speed, also seems to be no issues present! Anything that is wrong with it, or anything I would like to change, seems to be luxury options at this moment!

That being said, my ambient temperature does not display on my dash. I press the button and it displays -30 degrees celsius. I am assuming the sensor is shot and I need to replace it. I do not personally know where it is located Probably a noobish question, but if anyone could point me in the direction of where it may be, please do so! It looks like I would be getting one off of EBAY and replacing it. I would like to know how warm it is outside (Or correct me if it is for cabin temperature).

I am aware I could google this but I am wanting to give the forums a shot so I can get to know some of you and come here more often!
